In 2017, the Point of the Mountain Development Commission assembled advisory groups comprised of subject-matter experts from state agencies, local communities, private-sector partners and community organizations. The advisory groups helped to develop scenarios that showed the tradeoffs for different approaches to growth and the implications for each of those approaches. After the scenarios were developed, more than 4,000 Utahns actively participated in the visioning process by helping to select a preferred scenario for the area’s future growth.
Building on these years of public processes, the Point of the Mountain State Land Authority has assembled five working groups to collaborate with Utah’s foremost experts on specific considerations for development at The Point. These five working groups meet regularly, with all meetings open to the public. Due to COVID-19, working group meetings will be held via live streaming on Google Meet and The Point’s YouTube channel. Links to the live stream will be posted publicly at least one week prior to the meeting.
