UTAH’S INNOVATION COMMUNITY
Join us for the Groundbreaking!
After years of in-depth planning and site preparation, we will break ground on the extension of Porter Rockwell Boulevard through The Point, marking the start of Phase I Development. This pivotal milestone symbolizes the start of a new era as Utah’s Innovation Community rises from the ground.
We invite you to join the groundbreaking via the livestream on our YouTube Channel @ThePointUtah on Tuesday, December 17 at 10 a.m. to mark this momentous occasion.
Statue of Responsibility
On May 21, The Point of the Mountain State Land Authority co-chairs issued a statement on the Statue of Responsibility.
At this time, we have made no decisions regarding the Foundation’s proposal. We look
forward to engaging with the Foundation as we continue our thorough review.
Ceremonial Signing
The Point of the Mountain State Land Authority (POMSLA) has released detailed plans for the first phase of redevelopment for The Point that reflect Utahns’ vision. For redevelopment efforts to start in earnest, POMSLA will sign a landmark agreement with its private-sector development partner, Innovation Point Partners. We invite you to watch the ceremonial signing and get a firsthand look at never-before-seen details by watching our livestream recording on The Point YouTube Channel.
Phase One Development
Phase I Development Plans have been released! Located at the heart of the site, they reflect what Utahns want at The Point.
The Promenade
The Promenade will be a mixed-use development along a people-focused Main Street. It will include over 2 million square feet of office space, approximately 3,000 multi-family housing units, and 222,000 square feet of retail, shopping and restaurants, and grocery stores.
River to Range
The River to Range is a 1.4-mile paved regional trail that will connect the Jordan River Parkway Trail to the west with the foothills of Draper’s Corner Canyon to the East.
Central Green
Central Green will be a place that brings together urban living and outdoor recreation for Utahns and their families.
Taste of Place
The Taste of Place is set to become the ultimate dining hub for Utahns, offering a diverse range of indoor and outdoor restaurants.
Innovation Alley
A dynamic Innovation District at The Point fosters groundbreaking research & technology commercialization that solves difficult problems and creates a more prosperous future for rising generations of Utahns.
The Point is widely recognized as one of the most important quality-of-life opportunities in Utah history. It consists of 600 acres of state-owned land that is being built into Utah’s Innovation Community. The new community will foster innovation and technological advancement, provide parks and open space, support economic opportunity and enhance Utahns’ quality of life.
The first phase of development will serve as a catalyst for The Point. Located at the heart of the site, it reflects Utahns’ vision. It includes a pedestrian-priority area, a Central Green, regional trail connections, transit-oriented development, a balanced mix of jobs, housing, retail, shopping, entertainment, and so much more.
Development plans also include critical backbone infrastructure that will lay the groundwork for future development. Major infrastructure projects will extend Porter Rockwell Boulevard and planned transit service through the site, and construct most of the “River-to-Range” regional trail system.
